Pantothenic acid is a water soluble vitamin.

Pantothenic acid is part of the coenzyme A molecule which plays an essential role in the catabolism of all the macro-nutrients to yield energy. Pantothenic acid is very widely distributed in animal and plant tissues. Experimental dietary deficiency of pantothenic acid in humans leads to fatigue, headache, dizziness, muscle weakness, and gastro-intestinal disturbances. There is, however, no convincing evidence of pantothenic acid deficiency in humans other than when fed an experimental diet.
